There's only one Amy Laws
"I went to university at Brunel but I didn't actually study anything fashion related I actually studied Product Design that was more engineering based. I learned to sew from my Grandma and then taught myself over the years. Just before I started my business I took a part time btec in pattern cutting in the evenings while I was working as before that I had always been working from industrial patterns and wanted to be able to draft my own."
HARDING: What are your inspirations?
AMY: I'm inspired by vintage fashion, I love the fashion of the 1950's and the amazing silhouettes of the dresses. I look at children's illustrations for inspiration for my prints and they're often inspired by nature but made into more cartoon like whimsical images. I love colour! The brighter the better!
HARDING: So is this something you do full time now?
HARDING: I love that you do the same design for both adults and children like your flamingo dress, do you see many people buying both for mummy and me outfits?
HARDING: Is it just yourself who designs and makes the garments? are they made to order or do you sew in bulk?
HARDING: What advice would you give to someone wanting to change the course of their path and start doing something creative?
